What's inside

  • A four-week calendar: date, series, format, hook, on-screen text, sound, caption, the content disclosure setting and status for each video
  • A series bank: the repeatable formats the account is built on, why people watch them and when to film
  • A weekly review to record what you posted, which video did best and what you'll change next week
  • A filled example for Suds & Paws, a fictional dog grooming salon (every figure is made up), and a blank CSV of each sheet

How to use it

  1. Pick a pace you can film every week. Three videos a week that you actually post beats a daily plan you abandon.
  2. Choose two or three series: formats you can repeat with new material, such as a before-and-after or a customer's question answered.
  3. Write the hook for every video first. It's the first line said or shown, and it decides whether people keep watching.
  4. Film a week's videos in one session, then fill in the on-screen text, sound and caption while the footage is fresh.
  5. Mark which videos promote your business, product or service, and turn on TikTok's content disclosure setting for those.
  6. Post, and set aside time the same day to reply to comments. Questions in the comments are next week's ideas.
  7. At the end of each week, fill the review and move next week's slots towards the series that held attention.

Tips

  • Suds & Paws, its staff and every result in the example are made up. The posting pace and video lengths are the example salon's choices, not rules.
  • Series make TikTok manageable. When every video is a brand-new idea, planning takes longer than filming.
  • TikTok's Community Guidelines say commercial content must be disclosed with the content disclosure setting, including when you're promoting your own business, product or service (checked on 15 October 2026). The calendar has a column for it so it isn't forgotten. If you're unsure whether a video counts, turn the setting on.
  • Ask before filming a customer's dog, and before showing the owner. Note who agreed in the status column.
  • End each caption with one question. The comments give you material for the next Ask the groomer video.
  • Zolyp, which makes this template, plans, writes and schedules posts for TikTok and the other platforms it publishes to, and nothing goes live until you approve it. Plans with AI-written posts start at $29 a month.

Common questions

What should a TikTok content calendar include?

The date, the series or theme, the format, the hook, any on-screen text, the sound, the caption and call to action, whether the content disclosure setting is needed, and a status so you know what's filmed, scheduled or posted.

How often should a small business post on TikTok?

As often as you can make videos you're happy with. Pick a pace for a month, use the weekly review to see which series hold attention, then adjust. A steady three a week is easier to keep up than a burst followed by silence.

Do business videos on TikTok need a disclosure?

TikTok's Community Guidelines, checked on 15 October 2026, say commercial content must be disclosed using the content disclosure setting. That includes promoting your own business, product or service, and branded content you post in exchange for any kind of incentive. TikTok says content that isn't properly disclosed may have its visibility reduced.

Are the results in the example real?

No. The salon, its staff and every result are made up to show how a filled calendar and review read.
