Does Instagram publish a list of banned hashtags?
No. Instagram restricts hashtags quietly and the list changes. This tool uses the list that gets a post rejected when it's published through Instagram's API, which is what Zolyp checks every Instagram post against.
What happens if I use a banned hashtag?
Published through the API, the post is rejected outright. Posted in the app, the hashtag may simply not link to a feed, and your post won't show up under it.
Why are everyday words like "desk" or "humpday" on the list?
Hashtags get restricted when they're widely used for spam or content that breaks Instagram's rules, even if the word itself is harmless.
