How to schedule TikTok videos

TikTok schedules videos from its desktop website: click Upload, add the video, toggle Schedule after editing, choose a date and time, and click Schedule. The time can be 15 minutes to 10 days ahead. TikTok's help centre limits desktop scheduling to business accounts and accounts with 10,000 or more followers, and a scheduled video can be deleted but not edited.

How do you schedule a TikTok video?

Native scheduling is a TikTok desktop web feature. These are the steps from TikTok's support pages:

  1. Log in to TikTok on a computer and click the Upload icon at the top of your feed.
  2. Upload the video you want to schedule.
  3. After uploading and editing, toggle Schedule on.
  4. Pick a date and time. The time zone defaults to your computer's.
  5. Click Schedule.

What are TikTok's scheduling limits?

TikTok's support page lists these rules:

RuleWhat TikTok says
WhereTikTok on desktop web; not mobile web
WhoBusiness accounts, and accounts with 10,000 or more followers
Earliest15 minutes ahead
Latest10 days ahead
After schedulingVisible on your profile; can be deleted, not edited
When it goes liveA push notification in the app

Can you change a scheduled TikTok?

Not the video itself: TikTok says a scheduled post can't be edited, only deleted. If the caption, cover or video needs to change, delete the scheduled post from your profile and schedule it again. Because the window is only 10 days, plan to schedule in weekly batches.

What does a realistic weekly TikTok routine look like?

TikTok rewards frequent, native-feeling video, which is exactly what's hard to keep up. A routine that keeps a small account posting:

  1. Film several short clips in one session: answers to customer questions, quick how-tos, behind the scenes.
  2. Edit them with a hook in the first seconds, since that decides whether people keep watching.
  3. Write a short caption that says what the video is about, in the words people would search.
  4. Schedule the week's videos on desktop, staying inside the 10-day window.
  5. Check comments when each one goes live and reply; replies often spark the next video idea.

What doesn't native scheduling solve?

Native scheduling handles the timing of videos you've already made. The planning, the writing, and keeping TikTok in step with Instagram, YouTube and the rest is still on you.

  • Accounts below 10,000 followers that aren't business accounts can't use it
  • Ten days is the furthest you can plan
  • No edits after scheduling: any change means delete and re-upload
  • No help writing captions, and nothing for your other channels

What does Zolyp check before a TikTok post?

Separately from when a video can be scheduled, TikTok has rules for the post itself. These are the limits Zolyp checks a TikTok post against, the same figures listed in the docs:

  • On a video post the caption is the text people see; the separate title only exists on photo posts.
  • TikTok has no public comments API, so Zolyp can't read or reply to TikTok comments for you. Reply in the app.
LimitTikTok
CaptionUp to 2,200 characters
TitleUp to 90 characters, photo posts only
Video fileMP4, WebM or MOV, up to 4 GB
Video lengthUp to 10 minutes; many accounts are capped at 3 or 5 minutes by TikTok itself
Frame rate and size23–60 fps, 360–4,096 px on each side
Posts per connected account15 in any 24 hours

How do you plan a TikTok batch inside the 10-day window?

Ten days is short enough that planning a month needs two steps: plan far ahead, schedule close to the date.

  1. At the start of the month, list the ideas for every week: questions to answer, products to show, moments to cover.
  2. Film and edit one week's videos at a time, so they still feel current.
  3. Every weekend, schedule the coming week's videos on desktop, all inside the 10-day window.
  4. Keep one or two evergreen videos finished and unscheduled, for a week when filming doesn't happen.
  5. After each week, note which videos kept people watching and plan more of that kind.

What are the most common TikTok scheduling mistakes?

Because a scheduled TikTok can't be edited, small mistakes cost a delete and a re-upload. The usual ones:

  • Scheduling before the video is final. Watch the exported file once more on a phone, where most people will see it.
  • Leaving the caption for later. There is no later: write it before you toggle Schedule.
  • Forgetting the time zone. The scheduler uses your computer's time zone, which may not be your audience's.
  • Planning past day 10. Anything further out has to wait, so keep a short list of finished videos ready for the next batch.
  • Posting a long video to an account TikTok caps at 3 or 5 minutes. Check your account's limit before you edit a longer cut.

How Zolyp handles TikTok

Zolyp publishes to TikTok as part of one plan across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads: vertical video with a hook-first caption, or a photo post with its own title, fitted to TikTok rather than copied from Instagram. You approve the week before it goes out.
