How to edit your Facebook Page info: hours, address and category

Meta lists these sections of a Page's profile, though it notes the feature isn't available to everyone yet:

• Intro: a short description of your business.
• Category: what kind of business you are.
• Links, services and offers.
• Contact info: phone number, email address and social links.
• Details: ratings and reviews, price range, address and business hours.

Meta's steps on a computer:

1. Log in to Facebook, click your profile photo, click See all profiles and select your Page.
2. Click your Page's profile picture in the top right, then your Page name.
3. Click About, then Details.
4. Click Hours and add or change your business hours.
5. Click Open on selected hours to enter your own times, and Add hours to add more.

• Your time zone comes from your location, so check your address and map pin are right first.

The pin matters: if it isn't set correctly, check-ins and tagging won't be available for your Page.

1. Switch into your Page and go to it.
2. Click About, then Details, then the address.
3. Enter your address.
4. On the map, drag the red pin to the exact location. Meta says you must move the pin to complete this step.
5. Click Save.

• It may take a few days for tagging and check-ins to be enabled.
• If your Page is connected to Instagram, updating the address also updates your location on the Instagram Map.

Your category shows under your Page name in search, and some features depend on it. Be specific: Meta's example is Italian Restaurant rather than Restaurant. There's no limit on how often you can change it.

1. Switch into your Page and click About.
2. Select Category on the left, then click Edit next to Category.
3. Start typing and choose an option from the list. If nothing fits, choose the closest one.
4. Click Save.

Common causes:

• You have task access. Only people with Facebook access can update a Page's information, address or category.
• There's no Hours section. Meta says you may need to change your Page's category.
• Check-ins and tagging don't work. The map pin probably wasn't moved to your exact location.
• It's a charity Page. Charity details need verification, so the financial administrator has to contact Support to change them.
