What is the action button?
The action button is the call to action on your Page; Meta says it sits directly below your profile picture. It gives visitors one obvious next step, such as getting in touch or booking, without hunting through your posts.
Meta's help article doesn't publish a fixed list of buttons; you choose from the options Facebook shows when you click Add action button. Pick the action that's closest to a sale for your business: a café might want calls or messages, a salon might want bookings.

How do you add an action button?
You need Facebook access to the Page. Meta says people with task access manage Pages from other tools, such as Meta Business Suite, instead. Meta's steps:
- Log in to Facebook, then click your profile photo in the top right.
- Click See all profiles, then select the Page you want to switch into.
- Click your Page in the left menu.
- Click Options, then Add action button (or Edit action button).
- Select a button, then click Next.
- Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Click Save.

- From your Feed, click your Page's name in the left menu.
- Click Options on the right below your cover photo.
- Click Edit Action Button, then Change Button.

Why does the button keep changing or not show?
A few causes come straight from Meta's help pages:
- It says Subscribe: Meta says turning on Facebook Subscriptions sets your Page's action button to Subscribe automatically. Edit the action button to change it.
- There's no Options menu: you're probably still in your personal profile. Switch into the Page first.
- You can't add or edit it: you need Facebook access to the Page. Ask someone with full control to check your access.

How do you get more people to use it?
The button only helps people who reach your Page, so point to it from your posts. A few habits work well:
- Match your posts to the button: if it's for messages, end posts with "Message us to book" rather than a link elsewhere.
- Mention the same action in your bio and pinned post, so visitors see one consistent next step.
- Answer quickly when the button is for messages or calls; a slow reply wastes the click.
- Check your Page insights each month to see whether visits are turning into actions.
Where Zolyp fits
Zolyp is our product, so weigh this section with that in mind. The action button turns visitors into enquiries; regular posts are what bring visitors to the Page in the first place. Zolyp plans, writes and publishes those posts to your Facebook Page, so the button gets visitors to work with.
Zolyp plans the week across your content themes, writes the captions and designs the visuals against your Brand Brain (your tone, colours and rules, saved once), then schedules and publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads. You review and approve the week, and Autopilot lets you hand off publishing theme by theme once you trust the output. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial and no card required.
