How do you open Pinterest Trends?
Trends sits inside a Pinterest business account. It isn't in the Pinterest app, so use a desktop or mobile browser. Pinterest notes that some features are still in testing and only available in certain regions.
- Log in to your Pinterest business account.
- Click the menu (hamburger) icon at the top left.
- Under Analyze performance, select Pinterest Trends.
- Click Region at the top right and choose the country you sell to. Most of the page then uses that region.
- Wherever you see the crystal-ball icon, Pinterest has trend predictions available as well

How do you search and compare keywords?
This is the part most small businesses use: checking when interest in a topic rises and which wording people prefer.
- Click Search trends (the magnifying-glass-sparkle icon) on the left.
- Under Date range at the top of the graph, choose the period you want.
- Enter a keyword in the search bar at the top of the page.
- Add up to four keywords in total to compare them on one graph, or pick one from Related trends. Click the x next to a term to remove it.
- Scroll down to Demographics for the age and gender split of each keyword, and to Popular Pins to see what already ranks.
- Pinterest scales each line so its highest point is 100 and its lowest is 0. A line at 100 is that term's peak, not a search count
- Volume is normalised against all searches on Pinterest in the same period
- Create campaign at the top right turns a trend into an ad campaign if you advertise

What else can you browse in Pinterest Trends?
Beyond keyword search, the tool has several views. Each one answers a different planning question:
| View | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Trends in the spotlight | What's trending by Pin saves, filtered by interest |
| Search trends | Popular keywords, whether a trend is seasonal, and weekly, monthly and yearly change |
| Moments | Seasonal and cultural events, with how interest builds, peaks and cools, and guidance for each phase |
| Shopping trends | Trending product categories, filtered by top vertical, age and gender, with related searches |
| Growing trends your audience loves | Top trends among your engaged users and followers over the past 90 days, updated daily |
| Editors' picks | Trends chosen by Pinterest's editors and analysts |

How do you turn a trend into a Pin plan?
Trends tells you what and when; your Pins still need to match the words people search. A simple routine once a month:
- Search two to four ways of describing your main product or service and keep the wording with the strongest line.
- Look at when the line starts rising each year, not just when it peaks, and plan Pins to go out before the rise.
- Check Moments for events that fit your business and read the guidance for the phase it's in, such as approaching.
- Use the winning keyword early in the Pin title and in the description. Pinterest's Pin specs page allows descriptions of up to 800 characters.
- Use the same plain wording in the board name and board description, since people can find boards in search too.
- Put the Pins in your content calendar and add new ones every week through the season.

Why can't you see some Pinterest Trends features?
If a view is missing or empty, Pinterest's help page points to these causes:
- You're logged in to a personal account. Switch to, or convert to, a business account
- You're in the Pinterest app. Open Trends in a desktop or mobile browser instead
- The feature is still in testing and isn't available in your region yet
- Growing trends your audience loves only appears once your audience is large enough
- Audience trends reflect your worldwide audience even when you've picked a region, so they may not match the region graph
- A small keyword can look as big as a large one, because each line is scaled to its own 0 to 100 range

Up to the last two years. Audience trends cover the past 90 days and update daily.
How many keywords can I compare?
