How to move Pins to another board on Pinterest

You can move Pins to other boards or sections on your profile. On a computer:

1. Click your profile picture at the top right to open your profile.
2. Click a board to open it.
3. Click the edit icon at the corner of the Pin you want to move.
4. Click the chevron next to Board or Section and choose where the Pin should go.
5. Click Save.

• In the app: open the board, tap the Pin, tap the ellipsis icon at the top right, select Edit Pin, tap the name of the current board, choose the new board or section and tap Done

Use Organize to move several Pins from one board at once. On a computer:

1. Open your profile and click the board the Pins are on.
2. Click Organize at the top of the board.
3. Select all the Pins you want to move, then click Move at the top of your Pins.
4. Click Save next to the name of the board you want to move them to.

• In the app: open the board, tap Organize, select the Pins, tap the arrows icon at the bottom of the screen (its shape differs between Android and iPhone), then choose the board or section

Changes save automatically. On a computer, open Boards, open one of your boards, then drag and drop Pins or sections into the order you want. In the app:

1. Tap your profile picture, then Boards, and open a board.
2. Press and hold the Pin or section you want to move.
3. Select the vertical arrows icon.
4. Drag and drop to reorder. On some phones you'll also tap Done.

You can merge any boards or sections you own. Check three things first: followers of the merged board don't transfer to the destination board, a secret board merged into a public one takes the destination board's privacy setting, and undoing a merge means moving the Pins back one by one. On a computer:

1. Open your profile and click the board you want to merge.
2. Click the ellipsis icon next to the board name and select Merge.
3. Click the chevron next to Pick a board and choose the board to merge with.
4. Click Move Pins and Delete Board.

• Shortcut on a computer: drag one board into the centre of another and click Move Pins and delete board
• In the app: open the board, tap the ellipsis icon, select Merge (or Merge boards), pick the other board and tap Merge
• Sections: hover over the section on a computer, click the edit icon, select Merge, pick a section and click Move Pins and delete section

Board order affects what visitors see first. On a computer, open your profile, click Saved, then:

1. Click the filter icon above your boards.
2. Choose A to Z, Custom or Last saved to.
3. For a manual order, choose Custom, then drag a board into the space between two others.
4. If prompted, click Lose previous customization.

• In the app, tap Boards (Saved on a business account), tap the vertical arrows icon and choose Oldest saved, Custom or Recently saved
• To reorder by hand in the app, tap and hold a board, select the vertical arrows icon, drag it into place and tap Done

The usual surprises when tidying boards:

• Followers disappeared after a merge: followers of the merged board don't carry over, so merge the smaller board into the one with more followers
• A private board's Pins became public: after a merge, the destination board's privacy setting applies
• You want to undo a merge: there's no undo. Create a new board or section and move the Pins back one by one
• You want to move Pins to a different account: Move only works between boards and sections on your own profile
• Your custom board order reset: choosing an automatic sort replaces it. Pick Custom and drag the boards again
