How to edit or delete a Pin on Pinterest

You can edit and delete Pins you've created and saved. What you can change depends on how the Pin was created, but the options include:

• Title
• Description (called Details in the app)
• Link
• Board and section
• Comment settings
• Not the image, video or audio: once a Pin is published, those can't be edited. Create a new Pin instead
• Scheduled Pins follow the same rule: you can update the publish date, title, board, description and link, but not the image or video

On the Pinterest website:

1. Log in and click your profile picture at the top right of the screen.
2. Look through your Pins until you find the one you want to edit, and click it to open it.
3. Click the ellipsis icon, then select Edit Pin.
4. Update the title, description, link, board or comment settings, depending on which options the Pin offers.
5. Click Save.

The steps are the same on Android and iPhone:

1. Open the Pinterest app and tap your profile picture at the bottom right.
2. Find the Pin you want to edit and tap it to open it.
3. Tap the ellipsis icon in the top-right corner of the Pin, then tap the edit option.
4. Update the title, details, link, board or comment settings.
5. Tap Done to save your changes.

Deleting is permanent: once a Pin is deleted it can't be recovered, so check you no longer want it on your profile or board. On a computer:

1. Click your profile picture at the top right and open the Pin.
2. Click the ellipsis icon, then select Edit Pin.
3. Click Delete at the bottom-left corner.
4. Click Delete again to confirm.

• In the app: open the Pin, tap the ellipsis icon, tap the edit option, then tap Delete this Pin or the trashcan icon at the bottom of the screen, and tap Delete to confirm
• Scheduled Pins: go to your profile, where scheduled Pins sit above your published ones, tap the ellipsis icon at the bottom of the Pin and select Delete

Most problems come from the limits on published Pins:

• You want a different image or video: you can't swap it. Create a new Pin with the new media, then delete the old one if you no longer need it
• An option such as Link or Board is missing: the details you can edit vary with how the Pin was created
• You deleted a Pin by mistake: deleted Pins can't be recovered. Deleted boards are different: you have seven days to restore one from Recently deleted, on desktop or Android only
• You want to clear many Pins at once: the Edit or delete a Pin page only describes deleting one at a time. Deleting a board deletes every Pin on it, so move any Pins you want to keep first, or archive the board instead to hide it from your public profile
• The Pin is fine but in the wrong place: move it to another board rather than deleting and re-creating it
