Can your Pages be merged?

Meta says merging may not be available to everyone yet. Where it is, you need Facebook access to both Pages (task access isn't enough), and the Pages must:

  • Have the same name and represent the same thing.
  • Have the same address, if they have physical locations.
  • Be under the same Business Manager account (now called a business portfolio).
  • Not merge from a Page that is the primary Page of a Business Manager account.

What can't be merged?

Meta lists two hard limits: you can't merge two global Pages, and you can't merge a verified Page into a Page that isn't verified. If your names differ, request a name change for one Page first; once it's approved and the names match, you can request the merge.

What happens to each Page?

A merge can't be undone, so be clear on what survives. Meta says:

What happens
Followers and check-insCombined on the Page you keep
Groups linked to the merged PageMoved to the Page you keep
The Page you keepUnchanged, apart from gaining the other Page's followers
Posts, photos, reviews, ratings and username of the merged PageDeleted
The merged PageRemoved from Facebook; it can't be unmerged

How do you request the merge?

Before you start, Meta advises checking that no campaign you're running points to the Page that will be deleted. Save any photos or posts you want from it too, since they won't come across. Then:

  1. Log in to Facebook, then click your profile photo in the top right.
  2. Click See all profiles, then select the Page to switch into.
  3. Click the Page's profile picture in the top right.
  4. Click Settings and privacy, then Settings.
  5. In the left menu, click Page setup.
  6. Next to Merge Pages, click View.
  7. Next to Merge multiple Pages, click Start request.

What if you don't see Merge Pages?

Meta says a missing merge option means your Pages aren't eligible. Work through the rules: match the names (with a name change request), check both addresses, move both Pages into the same business portfolio, and confirm you have Facebook access rather than task access. If one Page is a global Page or the verified one would be merged into an unverified one, the merge isn't possible.

If merging isn't possible, a practical fallback is to keep one Page active, point your bio and posts on the other to it, and stop posting there.

One Page, posting steadily

Zolyp is our product, so weigh this section with that in mind. Duplicate Pages usually happen when nobody owns the Page for a while. Once you're down to one, Zolyp can keep it posting on a regular plan you approve each week.

Zolyp plans the week across your content themes, writes the captions and designs the visuals against your Brand Brain (your tone, colours and rules, saved once), then schedules and publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads. You review and approve the week, and Autopilot lets you hand off publishing theme by theme once you trust the output. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial and no card required.

Common questions

Can I undo a Facebook Page merge?

No. Meta says the Page you don't keep is removed from Facebook and you won't be able to unmerge it.

Do I keep followers when I merge Facebook Pages?

Yes. Meta says followers and check-ins from both Pages are combined on the Page you keep.

What happens to reviews when Pages merge?

Meta says posts, photos, reviews, ratings and the username are deleted from the Page you merge. The Page you keep stays as it is.

Why can't I merge my Facebook Pages?

Common reasons are different names or addresses, Pages in different business portfolios, having task access rather than Facebook access, or one being a global Page.
