Who can see how people voted on a LinkedIn poll?
Votes aren't anonymous to the author. LinkedIn says the poll author can see who voted and how, and for a poll posted by a Page, the Page's admins can see it. Voters see the percentage results once they vote, and anyone who can see the post sees the percentages after the poll closes. In a LinkedIn Group, only the poll author sees individual votes.
- Your connections are notified when you create a poll.
- You're notified about votes. To turn that off, use the Responses to your posts, comments and polls notification setting.
- Voting doesn't put the poll in the voter's Activity section.
- LinkedIn bans polls that ask for sensitive data, such as health, religion, political views, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, union membership or precise location.

How do you write a LinkedIn poll people answer?
A poll is a quick question, so the work is in making it easy to answer and worth discussing. A simple routine:
- Ask one thing your customers have a real opinion on, such as how they prefer to book, pay or hear from you.
- Make the options clear and separate, so nobody fits two of them.
- Use the post text to say why you're asking and invite people to explain their vote in the comments.
- Pick the shortest duration that suits your audience; one week is LinkedIn's default.
- Reply to the comments while the poll is open.
- When it closes, share what you learned in a follow-up post.
Why can't I create, edit or schedule a LinkedIn poll?
The common snags, with LinkedIn's rules behind them:
- Posting as a Page: LinkedIn's FAQ says super admins of Pages can create polls, so ask a super admin if the option is missing.
- Scheduling a Page poll: LinkedIn doesn't allow it. Post the poll live at the time you want.
- A typo after posting: polls can't be edited. Delete the poll and post a new one, which starts the votes again.
- An option won't fit: options are capped at 30 characters, so shorten the wording and put detail in the post text.
- The poll closed too soon: closed polls can't be reopened. Choose a longer duration next time.
