These are other companies' studies, summarised in our words with a link to each. They measure different accounts in different ways, so read them as a starting point to test, not a rule.
Buffer
Late afternoon and early evening on weekdays did best, roughly 3pm to 8pm. Wednesday was the best day, followed by Thursday and Friday, and Monday and Tuesday were lowest. Times are normalised to local time.
Sample: Over 4.8 million posts sent through Buffer. The number of accounts and the date range are not stated.. Published 9 September 2026. The Best Time to Post on LinkedIn in 2026: 4.8 Million Posts Analyzed, checked 14 October 2026.
Sprout Social
Midweek working hours led: Tuesday from late morning to late afternoon was the strongest window, with Wednesday and Thursday close behind. Weekends were the worst days. All times are in the audience's local time.
Sample: Nearly 2 billion engagements across about 307,000 social profiles on six networks, from over 30,000 Sprout Social customers, collected 27 November 2025 to 27 February 2026.. Published 31 March 2026. Best times to post on LinkedIn in 2026, checked 14 October 2026.
Hootsuite
Tuesday and Wednesday mornings were best and weekends worst. The page gives two different overall times (8am to 9am in its summary, 4am to 6am in the body), but both are early morning. Times were localised across 118 countries.
Sample: Over 1 million social posts from businesses of all sizes, analysed with the data science agency Critical Truth. The number of accounts and the date range are not stated.. Published 19 November 2025. The best time to post on LinkedIn [2025 data], checked 14 October 2026.
Where they agree: All three agree that weekdays beat weekends and that midweek is strongest. They disagree on the hour: Hootsuite found early morning best, Sprout Social found late morning to afternoon, and Buffer found late afternoon into the evening. Buffer also found Tuesday among the weaker days, where Sprout and Hootsuite rank it near the top.
What LinkedIn itself says
LinkedIn says its feed uses hundreds of signals to decide what each member sees, including the context of a post and signals from the member's profile, network and activity.

The feed shows Top posts by default, sorted by each member's interests and activity. Members can switch to Recent, which shows posts from people they follow in reverse time order.

How to see when your LinkedIn audience is online
LinkedIn Page analytics does not show when your followers are online. It does show how each post performed, so you can test posting times and compare.
- Go to your Page's admin view.
- Select Analytics in the left menu, then choose Content.
- Look at impressions and engagement for your recent posts, and note the day and time each one went out.
- Open Followers analytics to see who your followers are, which helps you judge which time zone most of them work in.
- Pick two slots on working days and alternate between them for three or four weeks with similar posts, then compare the results.

Tips that work whatever the study says
- Think about your audience's working day. Most of the published windows sit inside or just after office hours on Tuesday to Thursday.
- Post 30 to 60 minutes before the window you want to hit, so the post has time to collect early reactions.
- Test one slot change at a time for at least two to three weeks. LinkedIn posts can keep circulating for days, so short tests mislead.
- Use your followers' time zone, not yours, especially if you sell to another country.
- Weekend posts usually reach fewer people, so save weekends for low-stakes posts if you post then at all.
- Our free tool at /tools/best-time-to-post works out your best times from your own post results.
Common questions
What is the best day to post on LinkedIn?
Midweek. Sprout Social and Hootsuite both rank Tuesday and Wednesday highly, and Buffer found Wednesday best, followed by Thursday and Friday. All three found weekends weakest.
Does LinkedIn show when my followers are online?
Not in Page analytics. LinkedIn's Page analytics covers content, visitors, followers, search appearances, competitors and more, but not follower active hours. Compare the results of posts made at different times instead.
Does posting time still matter on LinkedIn?
Yes, though less than it did. The default feed is sorted by relevance, not time, so strong posts can still be shown later. Posting when your audience is at work gives a post a better chance of early engagement.
What time zone should I use for LinkedIn?
Your audience's. The big studies give times in the audience's local time. If your clients are in another country, schedule for their working day.
