Is Threads worth it for a small business?
Threads reached 500 million monthly active users in June 2026, Meta says. Its feed mixes posts from people you follow with recommended posts, so a public profile can reach people who don't follow you yet.
It suits businesses that can talk: share opinions, answer questions and join conversations in their field. If your business sells mostly through visuals, Threads works best alongside Instagram rather than instead of it.

How do you set up a Threads profile for a business?
Threads' help centre says you sign in with an Instagram or Facebook account to create a profile, and you can have one Threads profile for each of those accounts. Use the account your business already posts from, so the name and picture match.
- Download Threads or go to threads.com, and sign in with your business's Instagram or Facebook account.
- Import or write your bio, add your profile picture and choose a public profile, so your posts can be found and recommended.
- Add links to your bio. Threads allows up to five, so you can include your website, booking page and shop.
- Follow customers, suppliers and local accounts you already know, then write your first post.
- Followers on Threads are separate from Instagram and Facebook followers.
- A verified badge on the Instagram account you sign in with shows on Threads too. A verified Facebook account's badge doesn't carry over.

What should a business post on Threads?
Posts are short (up to 500 characters) and text comes first, though photos, videos and polls are all allowed. Mix a few types through the week:
- Quick tips from your trade that a customer can use today.
- An honest opinion on something in your industry, which invites replies.
- Behind-the-scenes notes and photos from the day.
- Polls about real decisions, like a new flavour or opening hours.
- Replies to other people's posts, which appear on your profile too.

How do people find a business on Threads?
Topic tags help people discover posts in real time. You can add one topic per post. Communities, which left beta in June 2026, group conversations around shared interests, and membership is public.
You can also share Instagram posts to Threads as you post them, from Also share on in the Instagram app, either one post at a time or every post automatically. Shared posts follow your Threads privacy settings, and deleting the Instagram post doesn't delete the Threads copy.

How do replies and messages work for businesses?
Replies are where Threads conversations happen, and you control them per post: anyone, profiles you follow, or people you mention. Since October 2025 you can also turn on approvals for a post, so you review replies before they show publicly.
Threads added direct messages in July 2025. Messages from people you don't follow land in a Message Requests folder, and you can switch requests off in Messages settings if you'd rather not receive them.

What are the rules for paid partnerships and ads?
If a creator posts about your business because you paid them or gave them something, Meta's branded content policies require the paid partnership label on Threads. In the app, the creator taps Options in the top right of a new thread, taps Mark as paid partnership, and mentions your account with @.
Ads on Threads began expanding to all markets in late January 2026. There's no separate setup: Threads placements are added to Advantage+ and manual campaigns in Meta's ad tools, and image, video and carousel ads appear in the Threads feed. Threads accounts also sit in your business portfolio alongside Facebook and Instagram.

Keeping Threads going without extra hours
Zolyp is our product, so weigh this section with that in mind. Most small businesses stall on Threads because posting several times a week on top of everything else is hard. Zolyp writes short, conversational Threads posts in your brand voice, the same week your other channels go out, and its Analyze report sums up what worked in plain language. Replies and DMs stay with you in the Threads app.
Zolyp plans the week across your content themes, writes the posts and designs the visuals against your Brand Brain (your tone, colours and rules, saved once), then schedules and publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads. Nothing goes out until you approve it. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial and no card required.
