How do you add a poll in the Threads app?
You can add a poll to a new post or to a reply. Threads' help centre gives these steps for iPhone and Android:
- Start a new post, or a reply, and type your question or statement as the text.
- Tap the poll icon to show the poll options.
- Keep the preset Yes and No, or tap each one and type your own option.
- Tap Add another option for a third or fourth choice.
- Tap Post in the bottom right. To drop the poll before posting, tap Remove poll below the options.

How do you add a poll on threads.com?
On a computer:
- Click New post in the bottom right, or start a reply, and type your question.
- Click the poll icon to show the poll options.
- Click Yes and No to replace them with your own options, and click Add another option for more.
- Click Post in the bottom right, or Remove poll to take it off before posting.

What are the limits on Threads polls?
From Threads' help centre:

Who can see how people voted?
Votes are private. Each person can see what they voted for, but neither you nor other voters can see which option anyone chose.
Who can see the poll at all follows your profile setting. On a public profile, anyone on or off Threads can see your posts. On a private profile, only your approved followers and people you reply to can.

What makes a good Threads poll for a business?
Our suggestions:
- Ask about a real decision, such as which new product to stock, then act on the result
- Keep options to three or four words, since each has 25 characters
- Put the context in the post text, where you have more room
- When the 24 hours are up, reply with the result and what you'll do next
- Add a poll as a reply in a busy conversation to get a quick read from people already taking part
Why can't you add or change a Threads poll?
- The post is already live. Editing can't add, remove or update a poll, so delete the post and post it again if the poll is wrong
- An option won't fit. Options are limited to 25 characters
- There's no fifth option. Polls allow up to 4
- You can't vote. You can't vote in polls you post
- Your fediverse followers didn't see it. Posts with a poll aren't shared to other servers
- Voting has stopped. Polls close after 24 hours
