How do you add a poll to a story or reel?
Anyone who can see your story or reel can tap an option. You can also use an emoji slider, where people slide the emoji you chose to answer.
- Add a photo or video to your story, or record a reel.
- Tap Stickers at the top.
- Choose the poll sticker.
- Write your question and customise the answers.
- Share your story or reel.

How do you see poll results?
Voters see the results update in real time once they've voted.
- Open your own story or reel.
- Swipe up.
- See how many votes each option received and how each person voted.

Which other question stickers can you use?
Our advice: a two-option poll on a product choice ("which colour next?") is quick to answer and tells you something useful.
- Quiz: a multiple-choice question; people tap an answer and find out if they were right. Swipe up to see each person's answer
- Questions on a story: people send you a text answer, or a song if you choose Music. Swipe up to see responses and tap one to share it; their photo and username aren't shown
- Questions on a reel: responses show as replies anyone who can see the reel can read. On a public account, people can also make reels that include their response
- Emoji slider: people rate something by sliding an emoji

How do you create a poll in a group chat?
- Tap Messages at the bottom.
- Open a group chat.
- Tap Add, then Poll.
- Enter your question and answers, then tap Create poll.
- Polls work in group chats with three or more accounts
- While the poll is active, anyone in the group can change their vote or add options through View poll

Can you boost a story with a poll?
No. Instagram says a story you want to boost must not contain polls, quizzes, music, link stickers or other complex creative tools. If you plan to boost a story, keep the poll for a separate one.

Why can't you find the poll sticker?
- Your app is out of date. Update it from the App Store or Google Play
- Not every sticker is available to everyone or on reels, Instagram says
- You're in Europe. Instagram says stickers may be unavailable for countries in Europe
- No Poll option in a chat. Chat polls only work in group chats with three or more accounts
- You can't boost the story. Remove the poll first, or boost a different story

Can you add a poll to an Instagram post?
Instagram's sticker help covers polls on stories and reels, and there are polls in group chats. It doesn't describe poll stickers on feed photo posts.
Can you put a poll on an Instagram reel?
Yes. When you record a reel, tap Stickers and choose the poll sticker.
How many people need to be in a chat to make a poll?
Three or more accounts. Polls can be created in group chats only.
Can I boost an Instagram story with a poll?
No. Boosted stories can't contain polls, quizzes, music or link stickers.
