What do you need before you go live?
Meta lists three requirements: your account must be at least 60 days old, your Page must have at least 100 followers, and you need Facebook access or task access to create content on the Page. Meta also says that if you've only recently joined Facebook, you may not be able to go live from a computer yet, but can still go live from a phone.
Live videos from a Page are always public. You can't narrow the audience to friends, though as a Page you can set a minimum age and allow or restrict locations.

How do you go live from your phone?
Switch into your Page in the Facebook app first. Then Meta's steps:
- From your Feed or Page, tap What's on your mind?, then tap Live video. The first time, you may need to allow access to your camera and microphone.
- Add a description. You can also add a feeling or activity, or tag people.
- Tap Effects if you want extra features and effects.
- When you're ready, tap Go live.
- Tap Finish to end, then choose whether to post the video or delete it.

How do you go live from a computer?
Going live from a computer opens Live Producer, Meta's desktop tool, which adds features such as polls, featured links, captions and crossposting to other Pages. With a webcam:
- From your Page or Feed, click Live video, or click What's on your mind? and choose Live video.
- Click Go live.
- Under Stream setup, select Webcam as your video source and check your camera and microphone.
- Write a title and description. Optionally turn on Notify subscribers on Messenger or Share to story, or crosspost to other Pages.

- To stop, click End live video and confirm.

How do you schedule a live video?
Meta says you can schedule a live video in Live Producer up to 24 hours ahead, on a computer only. Scheduling doesn't notify your audience; for that, create a live video event instead. To schedule:
- Go to Live Producer and choose where to post (your Page).
- Click Select on the Go live card.
- Under When are you going live?, choose Later, then pick a date and time.
- Finish setting up the video and click Schedule live video.
- At the scheduled time, a webcam broadcast needs starting by hand: open Scheduled broadcasts, click Set up live video, then Manually start live video. Streaming software starts automatically.

What if your live video won't start?
If you use streaming software (an encoder), select Streaming software as the video source in Live Producer, copy the stream key or server URL into the software, and start streaming. Meta says the stream key is only valid for your current stream, and once you start from the encoder you have up to five hours to go live. Other fixes from Meta's pages:
- Stream offline: check the software is connected, then check the server URL and stream key were copied correctly.
- No preview: check your equipment, the streaming software and your network connection.
- No option to go live: check the 60-day account age, the 100-follower minimum and your Page access.
- Can't boost the live video: Meta says live boosting is only available to verified Pages, so boost a standard video instead.

Where Zolyp fits around live video
Zolyp is our product, so weigh this section with that in mind. Zolyp doesn't stream live video. What it can do is keep your Page posting between broadcasts, including the posts that tell people when you're next going live.
Zolyp plans the week across your content themes, writes the captions and designs the visuals against your Brand Brain (your tone, colours and rules, saved once), then schedules and publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads. You review and approve the week, and Autopilot lets you hand off publishing theme by theme once you trust the output. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial and no card required.
