What happens when you block someone?
According to Pinterest:
- They can't follow you, message you or interact with your Pins
- Nobody is notified when you block or unblock them. They only find out if they try to follow you or interact with your Pins
- Their Pins stop showing in your home feed, but you may still see them in search results and group boards
- Pins you already saved from them stay on your profile until you delete them
- For bullying or harassment, report the account as well. If you're worried about your safety, contact the police

How do you unblock someone?
You can see everyone you've blocked in your settings. On a computer:

- Click Settings and select Social permissions.
- Scroll to Blocked accounts and select Edit list.

When should you report instead of, or as well as, blocking?
Reporting asks Pinterest to review content against its Community Guidelines. It doesn't hide the account from you, so block or unfollow as well if you want to see less of them. To report an account on a computer:
- Open the profile of the person you want to report.
- Click the ellipsis icon at the top right of their profile.
- Click Report, select your reason and click Next.
- Click Report to confirm.
- Pins, boards, comments and message conversations each have their own Report option under the ellipsis icon
- Someone pretending to be your business: contact Pinterest, select Report a policy violation, then Report account impersonation. Give the profile URL, your genuine profile and anything else that verifies your identity
- A similar name or username isn't always impersonation. For trademark or username claims, Pinterest points businesses to its trademark page

Can you limit contact without blocking?
Yes. If blocking feels too strong, or you're dealing with lots of accounts, try these:
- Message settings: for followers, collaborators and people you follow, choose Inbox, Requests or Don't deliver under Settings, Social permissions
- Business accounts can switch off Allow others to message my business, which stops new message requests and conversations
- Comment filters let you hide comments with blocked words (see our guide to managing Pinterest comments)
- If a blocked person still appears in search or group boards, that's expected: blocking only removes them from your home feed
