Complete the Page before you promote it

Every growth tactic below sends people to the Page, so fix it first. LinkedIn says Pages with complete information, such as a logo, description and website, are more discoverable and can get 30% more weekly views. It also makes Industry, Company size and Overview mandatory before you can invite people to follow.

  1. Add your logo and a cover image that shows your work.
  2. Write the Overview with the words people search for: LinkedIn notes members can search by keywords, so say what you do and where.
  3. Fill in industry, company size, website and every location. You can add several and mark one as the primary office.
  4. Add a call-to-action such as Contact us, Request services or Visit website. Without Premium Company Page it shows under the More button; with it, the button sits at the top of the Page.
  5. Turn on Page messages so visitors can contact you directly.
  6. Check the Today's actions section in your admin dashboard for LinkedIn's suggested next steps.

Invite the right people every month

Page admins can invite their first-degree connections to follow the Page. The invitation comes from the admin's own profile, and LinkedIn recommends inviting only people likely to be interested.

Pages get monthly invitation credits shared by all admins, renewed on the first day of each month. Each invitation uses a credit; when someone accepts, the credit comes back within up to 72 hours. Declined or withdrawn invitations don't return the credit, which is another reason to be selective. LinkedIn says it's changing the credit amounts for free and Premium Pages gradually, so check your balance in the admin view.

  • Ask every admin to invite their own relevant connections, such as clients, partners and local contacts, early in the month.
  • Invite people right after they've interacted with you, while you're fresh in their mind.
  • Premium Company Page adds automatic invitations to people who engaged with your posts in the past 30 days, and invitations to followers of similar Pages.
  • Inviting connections isn't available to Pages with more than 100,000 followers.

Bring your team in

Your staff's networks are usually far bigger than your Page's following. LinkedIn counts members who list your Page in the Experience section of their profile as your employees, which makes them reachable with Employee Notifications and connects their profiles to the Page.

  1. Ask each team member to add or update their role and pick your Page as the company.
  2. When you publish an important post, use Notify employees from the post's More menu. Each admin can do this once a day; it doesn't work for targeted posts or Pages with only one associated employee.
  3. Make sharing optional and easy: a weekly message with one or two posts worth resharing, and a note that people should add their own words.
  4. Reshare posts where staff mention the company. LinkedIn's Pages guidance recommends resharing mentions from employees, executives and key customers.
  • Keep it voluntary. Our glossary entry on employee advocacy covers how to run it fairly, and a social media policy sets the ground rules.

Post what Page followers want to see

LinkedIn's Pages guidance makes a few specific claims worth planning around: companies that post weekly see twice the engagement, images typically bring a 2x higher comment rate, collages of three or four images perform especially well, and video gets five times more engagement. It also says members respond best to behind-the-scenes stories and suggests spotlighting employees.

Write as the company, but like people work there. "We finished the Harbour Street fit-out on Friday, a week early; here's what the client's team walked into on Monday" reads better than a press release. Name the people involved (with their agreement), show the work, and finish with a question or a next step. Avoid posting only announcements: a Page that only says "we're delighted to announce" gives followers nothing to come back for.

Be active as the Page, not just on it

A Page that only publishes is easy to ignore. Super and content admins can react and comment as the Page on public posts; LinkedIn says those reactions and comments are visible to your Page followers and can improve the Page's visibility.

  • Comment as the Page on posts from clients, partners and local organisations, adding something useful rather than "Great post!".
  • Follow other organisations' Pages as your Page. LinkedIn says interacting with their posts from your admin view is visible to your followers.
  • Repost with your thoughts when a partner or client shares something relevant; your comment appears above the original.
  • LinkedIn may limit how many comments a Page can make in a period. It recommends verifying the Page and having all admins complete workplace verification.

Use the Page features that keep followers around

Several free features give new followers a reason to stay:

  • Featured posts: super admins can feature up to six posts at the top of the Page's Home tab. Pinning a single post is being discontinued in favour of this.
  • Newsletter: Pages with more than 150 followers or connections and a history of original posts can be evaluated for one. New followers are invited to subscribe automatically.
  • Events: host an online, in-person or hybrid event as the Page and invite attendees.
  • Messages: answer quickly. LinkedIn's own guidance for Page inboxes is to reply as fast as you can.

Track follower growth and what drives it

Once a month, look at the Page's follower and content analytics and note what changed. Hypothetical example: a 15-person web design studio reviews its first quarter.

  • Track followers, but also visitors, button clicks and messages. LinkedIn shows custom call-to-action clicks in the Visitor highlights section.
  • Our LinkedIn Page analytics guide explains where each number lives.

Where Zolyp fits (disclosed: it's our product)

Zolyp, which publishes this guide, is our own product, so weigh this section with that in mind. Zolyp can keep the weekly posting part going: it plans the month across your pillars, creates each post with a caption and visual, and publishes to your company Page on the schedule you approve. Inviting, commenting as the Page and team sharing still need a person. It publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads, writes each post against your Brand Brain (your saved tone, services, audience and banned topics), and you approve the week before anything goes live. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial.

Common questions

How do I get more followers on my LinkedIn company Page?

Complete the Page, invite relevant connections each month, get staff to list the Page in their Experience, post at least weekly, comment as the Page and feature your best posts.

How many people can I invite to follow my LinkedIn Page?

Pages get monthly invitation credits shared by all admins, renewed on the first of each month. Accepted invitations return the credit. LinkedIn is changing the amounts gradually, so check the balance in your admin view.

Can employees help grow a LinkedIn Page?

Yes. Staff who list the Page in their Experience become associated employees, can be notified of important posts (once a day per admin), and can reshare with their own words.

Can I still pin a post on my LinkedIn Page?

LinkedIn is discontinuing pinning. Instead, super admins can feature up to six posts in the Featured section at the top of the Page.

Is Premium Company Page worth it for growth?

It adds automatic invitations to people who engaged with your posts, invitations to followers of similar Pages and a more visible call-to-action button. Get the free tactics working first, then decide.

How often should a company Page post on LinkedIn?

At least weekly. LinkedIn's Pages guidance says companies that post weekly see twice the engagement on their content. A steady weekly post you can keep up beats a burst of daily posts followed by silence.
