What do you need before you request admin access?

LinkedIn asks you to do three things first:

  1. Add the organisation as your current position in the Experience section of your profile.
  2. Verify your workplace with your current company email, if your company supports it.
  3. Follow the Page.
  • Sending a request shares your public profile information with all of the Page's current super admins.

  1. Go to the Page.

How does a super admin approve the request?

Send these steps to whoever runs the Page:

  1. Go to the Page's super admin view and click Settings.
  2. Click Manage admins and scroll to Pending admin requests.
  3. Click Assign role next to the person's name.
  4. Choose Super admin, Content admin or Analyst.
  5. Click Add admin. To refuse, click Decline instead.
  • Super admins can also accept or decline from the email LinkedIn sends them.

Which admin role should you ask for?

Ask for the narrowest role that covers the job:

  • One person can hold a Page admin role and a paid media role at the same time.
RoleWhat it can do
Super adminEverything, including adding and removing admins, editing Page info, posting jobs and deactivating the Page
Content adminCreate and manage posts, boost posts and run events
AnalystView analytics only
Sponsored Content posterCreate ads or sponsor posts in Campaign Manager, but not boost from the Page
Lead Gen Forms managerDownload leads from Lead Gen Forms

What if no one approves your request?

This often happens when the person who set up the Page has left. LinkedIn's advice:

  • Contact LinkedIn support about the pending request, after adding the Page as your current employer and verifying your work email.
  • Support may ask for more information, but it can't tell members or employees who the current admins are.
  • If the Page has a banner saying LinkedIn created it, it's a Listing Page. Eligible employees can click Claim this page, tick the box and click Confirm to become its admin.
  • If someone else has already claimed the Listing Page, request admin access from them instead.

Where Zolyp fits

Zolyp, which publishes this guide, is our own product, so weigh this section with that in mind. Only super admins and content admins can post as a LinkedIn Page, so get one of those roles first. After that, Zolyp can write and schedule posts for the Page and show their comments and analytics. LinkedIn is one of the 9 platforms it publishes to (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads), and you approve the week before anything goes live. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial.

Common questions

How do I get admin access to my company's LinkedIn Page?

List the company as your current job, verify your work email if you can, follow the Page, then click More and Request admin access. A super admin has to approve it.

How do I know if my admin request was approved?

You'll get a confirmation in your Notifications tab. If nothing arrives, the request hasn't been accepted yet.

Can LinkedIn tell me who the admins of a Page are?

No. LinkedIn support can't share admin information with members or employees of the Page.

What if the only admin has left the company?

Contact LinkedIn support about your pending request. Have the Page listed as your current employer and your work email verified first.
