What can you verify on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn offers three kinds of verification for members. All are optional and free:
- LinkedIn says verified members see 60% more profile views and 50% more engagement on average, based on its own data.
| Type | How | Where it's available |

| Identity | Government ID through CLEAR | US, Canada and Mexico |
| Identity | NFC-enabled passport (or another accepted ID) through Persona | Many other countries; LinkedIn lists them |
| Identity | DigiLocker credentials | India |
| Workplace | A code sent to your work email | Selected companies only |
| Workplace | Microsoft Entra Verified ID, a LinkedIn Learning licence or a Recruiter licence | Where your employer has set it up |
| Education | A LinkedIn Learning licence from your institution | Participating institutions |

How do you verify your identity on LinkedIn?
Identity checks run in the LinkedIn app on iOS or Android:
- On your profile, tap Resources, then About this member, then Verify now.
- Agree to the verification partner's terms. With CLEAR, enter your personal phone number or email to sign in or create a free CLEAR account.
- Take a photo of your government ID. With Persona and an NFC passport, scan the chip as well.
- Take a photo of yourself.
- Tap Yes, Share so the result is added to your LinkedIn profile.
- It doesn't work in a web browser. Persona shows a QR code on desktop so you can carry on with your phone.
- CLEAR accepts a driver's licence, state ID or passport, and needs a personal phone number from the US, Canada or Mexico. Business numbers aren't accepted.
- The name on your ID must match your LinkedIn profile name.

How does a LinkedIn company Page get verified?
Only a super admin can request it, on desktop, and only if the Page is eligible. LinkedIn may weigh regular posting, replying to members and paid products such as Ads, Jobs or Premium Company Page. You must also prove you own the Page's website.
- Go to the Page's super admin view and click Settings.
- Click Verification controls. If it's missing, the Page isn't eligible yet.
- Click Verify workplace, then Get started.
- Enter your legal business name and website URL, then your business address.
- Review the details and click Submit.
- The status shows as Pending. Verification can take up to 48 hours, depending on your domain provider, and you'll get an email either way.
- If you see Ask about verifying instead, click it to register interest.
- A badge means LinkedIn has confirmed the Page represents the organisation. It isn't an endorsement.

Why can't I get verified on LinkedIn?
The usual reasons, from LinkedIn's help pages:
- To remove a verification, go to Me, Settings & Privacy, Account preferences, then Verifications. A deleted verification can't be restored.
- For anything else, LinkedIn points to its Request assistance with LinkedIn verification form.
| Problem | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No identity option on desktop | Identity checks are app only | Use the LinkedIn app on your phone |

| No work email option | Your company isn't supported yet | Use identity verification instead |
| Badge disappeared | You changed your name, or your company changed email domains | Verify again |
| No Verification controls on a Page | The Page isn't eligible yet | Click Ask about verifying if shown |
