To create a LinkedIn company Page, click the For Business icon at the top right of your LinkedIn homepage, choose Create a Company Page, pick Company, fill in the Page identity, company details and profile details, tick the box confirming you can act for the business, and click Create page. It's free. You can also do it in the iOS app, but not on Android.

What do you need before you create a LinkedIn Page?

A LinkedIn Page isn't a separate login. It's run by people, from their own personal accounts, so you start from your profile. LinkedIn's help centre lists what has to be true before the Create button works:

  • A LinkedIn account of your own. Whoever creates the Page becomes its super admin.
  • An account that is at least one day old. Brand-new accounts have to wait.
  • More than one connection with other members. Connect with a few colleagues or customers first.
  • The right to act on behalf of the business. You confirm this with a tick box during setup.
  • A public URL for the Page that nobody else has taken, such as linkedin.com/company/your-business.
  • Sometimes, a verified workplace. LinkedIn may ask you to verify the job on your profile by work email or Microsoft Entra Verified ID before it lets you continue.

Which type of LinkedIn Page should you choose?

LinkedIn has several Page types. A small business almost always starts with a Company Page, and the others hang off it later if you need them.

  • Showcase Pages go inactive after six months without a post, so only create one you'll keep feeding.
  • Super admins of the main Page don't automatically get access to its Showcase Pages; add admins to each.

What should you fill in before your first post?

A half-empty Page looks abandoned, and people check it before they buy. LinkedIn's own Pages guidance says Pages with complete information get 30% more weekly views. Fill these in first:

  • Logo: LinkedIn recommends 400 x 400 pixels (minimum 268 x 268), PNG or JPEG, up to 3 MB.
  • Cover image: LinkedIn lists 1,512 x 256 pixels, PNG or JPEG, up to 3 MB.
  • Overview: say what you do, for whom and where, in plain words. LinkedIn suggests using the keywords people would search for.
  • Website, industry, company size and location, so the right people find you.
  • The call-to-action button, such as Visit website or Contact us.

How do you add other admins to your Page?

Don't leave the Page tied to one person. If that person leaves, you can lose control of it. Only a super admin can add admins:

  1. Open the Page's super admin view.
  2. Go to Settings and select Manage admins.
  3. Choose the Page admins tab (or Paid media admins for ad access).
  4. Click Add admin and search for the person.
  5. Select them, choose their admin role and click Save.
  • The person must follow the Page and be a 1st, 2nd or 3rd-degree connection.
  • Each person can hold only one Page admin role. Super admins and content admins can post; every admin role can see analytics.

Why can't I create a LinkedIn Page?

LinkedIn's troubleshooting page lists the usual reasons and the fix for each:

  • Don't work around it by making a personal profile with the business name. LinkedIn says profiles that represent businesses rather than real people may be flagged.

Where Zolyp fits

Zolyp, which publishes this guide, is our own product, so weigh this section with that in mind. Once the Page exists, Zolyp can publish to it: you connect LinkedIn and choose, under Connections, whether posts go out as your profile or as a company Page you manage. LinkedIn only shares comments and analytics for company Pages, so posting as the Page also lets Zolyp show both. LinkedIn is one of the 9 platforms it publishes to (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads), and you approve the week before anything goes live. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial.

Common questions

Is a LinkedIn company Page free?

Yes. Creating and posting from a Company Page is free. Premium Company Page features and Career Pages are paid extras.

Can I create a LinkedIn Page on Android?

No. LinkedIn says creating a Page isn't supported on Android. Use a computer, or the LinkedIn app on an iPhone or iPad.

How many connections do I need to create a LinkedIn Page?

More than one. LinkedIn's troubleshooting page says your account needs more than one connection with another member, and must be at least a day old.

Can a LinkedIn Page exist without a personal profile?

No. Pages are managed by admins, who are members with their own LinkedIn accounts. The person who creates the Page becomes its first super admin.
