How to schedule LinkedIn posts

LinkedIn schedules posts natively and for free. On your profile, start a post, click the clock icon, pick a date and time between 10 minutes and 3 months ahead, click Next, then Schedule. On a company Page, a super admin or content admin can schedule from one hour to three months ahead. Events, jobs and service posts can't be scheduled on either, and Pages also exclude polls, reshares and multi-photo posts.

How do you schedule a post on your LinkedIn profile?

Scheduling lives in the same composer you use to post right away. These are the desktop steps from LinkedIn's help centre:

  1. Click Start a post at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Write the post in the What do you want to talk about? field.
  3. Click the clock icon in the lower-right corner of the composer.
  4. Pick a date and time between 10 minutes and 3 months from now. You can type an exact time instead of using the 30-minute options in the list.
  5. Click Next. The scheduled date and time now show above the post.
  6. Click Schedule. A confirmation appears in the lower left of the page.

How do you schedule a LinkedIn post from your phone?

The LinkedIn app has the same option, with the clock icon in the top corner instead of the bottom:

  1. Tap Post in the navigation bar.
  2. Write the post.
  3. Tap the clock icon in the upper-right corner.
  4. Choose a date and time between 10 minutes and 3 months ahead.
  5. Tap Next, then tap Schedule in the upper-right corner.
  • LinkedIn standardises the scheduled time in UTC from your device's time zone, so check your phone's time zone before you schedule while travelling.
  • To cancel the schedule before it's set, tap Edit next to the time and clear it, then post now or discard.

How do you schedule a post on a LinkedIn company Page?

  2. Click Page posts in the left menu, then Start a post.

  5. Click Next to return to the preview, finish the post, then click Schedule.

What are LinkedIn's scheduling limits?

Profiles and Pages have slightly different rules:

  • A scheduled Page post can't be promoted through Campaign Manager's Browse existing content option until it has been published.

How do you edit, reschedule or delete a scheduled LinkedIn post?

Start a post, click the clock icon, and choose View all scheduled posts in the lower left. From that list you can open a post to preview it, use the delete icon to remove it, or use the More menu to choose Modify schedule or Edit post.

What does a good weekly LinkedIn routine look like?

LinkedIn rewards posts that sound like a person with something to say, which is hard to produce on the day. A routine that works for a small business or a founder:

  1. Once a week, note three things worth sharing: a lesson from a customer, a result, and an opinion about your industry.
  2. Write each as a short post that opens with the point in the first line, since that line decides whether anyone clicks see more.
  3. Schedule them on different days, leaving room to post live when something happens.
  4. Reply to comments on the day each post goes out; a scheduler publishes for you, but it can't hold the conversation.
  5. At the end of the week, look at which post drew real comments and write more like it.

What doesn't native scheduling solve?

The composer saves you from posting at a fixed time. It doesn't help with the harder part: deciding what to say each week, writing it in your voice, and keeping LinkedIn in step with what you post everywhere else.

  • No content plan or variety across weeks
  • No help writing or rewriting the post
  • One network at a time: Instagram, Facebook and X are scheduled elsewhere
  • Polls, reshares and multi-photo posts still have to go out live on Pages

What does Zolyp check before a LinkedIn post goes out?

How Zolyp handles LinkedIn

Zolyp plans the week across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads, and writes the LinkedIn version in the professional register LinkedIn readers expect rather than reusing the Instagram caption. You approve the week in minutes, and nothing publishes without your yes until you hand a content pillar to Autopilot.

Common questions

Can you schedule posts on LinkedIn for free?

Yes. Both personal profiles and company Pages can schedule posts natively, with no paid plan needed.

How far in advance can you schedule a LinkedIn post?

Up to three months. On a profile the earliest is 10 minutes from now; on a company Page it's one hour.

Why can't I schedule my LinkedIn post?

Events, jobs and service posts can't be scheduled. On company Pages, polls, reshares and posts with multiple photos can't be scheduled either. Remove that element or post it live.

What time zone does LinkedIn use for scheduled posts?

On your profile, LinkedIn standardises the time in UTC from your device's time zone. On a company Page, the time is based on your location. Check both before scheduling while travelling.

How long can a LinkedIn post be?

Up to 3,000 characters of post text. Zolyp also supports an optional title of up to 400 characters.

Does Zolyp publish to LinkedIn?

Yes. LinkedIn is one of the 9 platforms Zolyp publishes to, with each post written for LinkedIn rather than copied from another network.
