What does Business Manager do?
LinkedIn describes it as a central hub that:
- Connects your ad accounts and Pages in one dashboard.
- Gives staff and partner businesses access from one place.
- Pays for ads across several accounts through Ads Billing Center.
- Shares Matched Audiences and allow and block lists across accounts and with partners.
- Connects to your CRM for conversion tracking and lead syncing.
- Adding existing ad accounts and Pages doesn't interrupt campaigns, billing or integrations, and people who already have access keep it. LinkedIn's page doesn't mention a price.

How do you create a Business Manager?
You need a LinkedIn profile and a work email:
- Go to linkedin.com/businessmanager/create.
- Enter a name that includes your organisation's name, and the market or business unit if that helps people recognise it.
- Optionally click Upload to add a logo.
- Enter your work email address.
- Choose Manage my business, or Manage clients or other businesses if you're an agency.
- Click Create.
- The work email doesn't have to be on your LinkedIn profile. All Business Manager communication goes to it.

How do you invite people and choose roles?
Business Manager admins can invite people:
- Click People in the left menu.
- Click Invite people in the upper-right corner.
- Enter work email addresses, separated by commas.
- Select a business role, then click Invite.
- Invitees need a LinkedIn profile and must accept from the email. To resend, click the Envelope icon or copy the activation link.
- LinkedIn recommends at least two admins, kept to senior staff.
| Role | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Admin | Full control: people, ad accounts, Pages, partners, invoicing and shared audiences |
| Employee | Can be added to ad accounts and Pages, with no admin actions |
| Contractor | Same as employee, for people outside your organisation |
| Billing admin (ad account) | Everything on the ad account, including payment details; one per account |
| Account manager (ad account) | Everything except payment details |
| Campaign or creative manager (ad account) | Create and edit campaigns and ads, or only ads |

How do you add ad accounts and Pages?
To claim an ad account your organisation owns:
- Click Ad accounts in the left menu.
- Open the Add accounts dropdown and select Claim ownership (ID).
- Enter the account IDs, separated by spaces. Each ID is under the account name in the upper left of Campaign Manager.
- Click Add, review the summary and click Got it.
- You can add up to 1,000 ad accounts, or upload IDs with the CSV template. New ad accounts aren't added automatically.
- The account's managers get an email to approve; it's automatic if you're already an account manager.
- For Pages: click Pages, open Add Page, choose Add Page, enter the Page name or URL and click Send for request. It's added at once if you're a super admin, otherwise the Page's super admins approve.
- Each Page can belong to only one Business Manager. For a Page another business owns, choose Request access, or ask its owner to share it through a partnership.

Why can't I access Business Manager?
LinkedIn's troubleshooting page covers:
| Problem | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Can't sign in despite having a role | Your LinkedIn profile isn't linked to your Business Manager profile | Check that link first |
| Error when signing in | You haven't accepted the invite, or it expired | Accept it, or ask an admin to resend or send an activation link |
| Authentication fails | You're signed in to a different LinkedIn profile | Sign in with the profile you used to accept |
| No ad accounts or Pages showing | Nobody has given you access yet | Ask a Business Manager admin |
| Ad account claim stuck | Its account managers haven't approved | Ask them to approve the email request |

Where Zolyp fits
Zolyp, which publishes this guide, is our own product, so weigh this section with that in mind. Business Manager decides who can reach your ad accounts and Pages. Zolyp connects to LinkedIn separately: you sign in and choose, under Connections, whether posts go out as your profile or a company Page you manage. LinkedIn is one of the 9 platforms it publishes to (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads), and you approve the week before anything goes live. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial.
Common questions
Is LinkedIn Business Manager the same as Meta Business Manager?
No. They're separate tools from different companies, though both hold ad accounts, Pages and people in one place.
Can an agency use LinkedIn Business Manager?
Yes. Choose Manage clients or other businesses when you create it, and use partnerships to work on clients' accounts.
Does my Business Manager email have to match my LinkedIn profile?
No. It should be a work email, but it doesn't have to be on your profile.
Can a LinkedIn Page belong to two Business Managers?
No. Each Page can be owned by one Business Manager, which can share it with partners.
How many admins should a Business Manager have?
LinkedIn recommends at least two, so there's always an active one.
