How to add a link to your Instagram bio

Instagram allows up to five websites on a profile, and anyone on or off Instagram can see them. Its help centre says the feature isn't available on computers, only in the mobile apps.

1. Tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right to go to your profile.
2. Tap Edit profile at the top of the screen.
3. Tap Links, then tap Add external link.
4. Enter the URL of your website.
5. Tap Done, then tap Back.

Our advice: put the page you most want people to visit first, such as your booking page, menu or shop, and remove links you no longer update.

1. Go to your profile and tap Edit profile, then Links.
2. Tap Options, then Reorder links.
3. Tap and hold a link and drag it up or down the list.
4. Tap Done, then Back.
5. To remove a link, tap it in Links and tap Remove link.

Instagram says the Facebook profile link becomes the first website people see in your bio. Use Reorder links if you'd rather lead with your own site. The page describes a Facebook profile; for a Facebook Page, add its web address as an ordinary link.

1. Make sure your Instagram account is in the same Accounts Centre as your Facebook profile.
2. Go to your profile and tap Edit profile.
3. Tap Links.
4. Tap Add external link, then follow the prompts.

A bio can be up to 150 characters, and anyone can see it. Our advice for a business: say what you sell and where in the first line, then give one reason to tap your link, such as booking, ordering or a current offer.

1. Go to your profile and tap Edit profile.
2. Tap Bio, then write your bio.
3. Tap Done to save.
