What changes when you turn on pro mode?

Pro mode isn't a new profile; it adds tools to the one you have. Your friends and existing content stay as they are. Meta lists these changes:

  • Who can follow me is set to Public, so anyone can follow you and see your public posts. You can still share some posts with friends only.
  • Content and audience insights, in a professional dashboard.
  • Safety tools such as Moderation Assist, which can filter profanity, block keywords and apply comment rules for you.
  • Your content becomes eligible to be recommended to people on Facebook.
  • Monetisation products, if you meet the eligibility rules. Meta says users under 18 aren't eligible at this time.
  • Your profile gets a category, set to Digital creator by default, which you can change in your Intro section.

Pro mode or a Facebook Page?

Meta's guidance is direct: if your goal is to represent a business, brand or product, create a Page. Pro mode suits sharing updates with a wider audience from your own profile, where you're also connected to friends and family. The limits are similar:

Things to check before switching

A few details catch people out:

  • Followers who aren't friends are lost when you turn pro mode off. Turning it back on allows public followers again, but Meta doesn't say the old ones return.
  • Your category defaults to Digital creator. To change it, go to your profile, tap More options, select Edit, find the details under your bio, tap Edit and choose your category.
  • Pro mode profiles show more information in a Profile transparency section.
  • If you want followers to invite their friends to follow your profile, Meta says pro mode must be on.

Which account Zolyp posts to

Zolyp is our product, so weigh this section with that in mind. Zolyp publishes to Facebook Pages, so if you want help posting for your business on Facebook, a Page is the account to connect.

Zolyp plans the week across your content themes, writes the captions and designs the visuals against your Brand Brain (your tone, colours and rules, saved once), then schedules and publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads. You review and approve the week, and Autopilot lets you hand off publishing theme by theme once you trust the output. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial and no card required.
