How do you translate a title and description?
Translated titles and descriptions help viewers find your videos in their own language; YouTube's search uses them to match searches in other languages. On a computer:
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Subtitles. YouTube's multi-language page calls this menu Languages.
- Select a video. If you haven't set its language yet, choose it and click Confirm.
- Click Add language and choose the language to translate into.
- Under Title and description, click Add.
- Enter the translated title and description, then click Publish.

What is YouTube automatic dubbing?
Automatic dubbing creates translated audio tracks for new uploads, published according to your settings; YouTube may also dub older videos over time. Dubbed videos are marked auto-dubbed in the description, and viewers can switch between the original and dubbed audio. It's on by default for eligible creators. You can't edit an automatic dub.
- Check a specific video's options, including experimental languages, on its Languages page in YouTube Studio.
| Original language | Automatic dubs into |
|---|---|
| English | Arabic, Bengali, Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malayalam, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Tamil, Telugu, Ukrainian |
| Most other supported languages | English |
| Hindi, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish | English plus Bengali (Hindi), Indonesian (Korean), Spanish (Portuguese), Arabic and Portuguese (Spanish) |

How do you turn automatic dubbing off or review dubs first?
On a computer:
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- Click Settings, then Channel, then Advanced settings.
- Untick Allow automatic dubbing to turn it off, or tick it to turn it on.
- To check dubs before they go live, tick Manually review dubs before publishing.
- Click Save.
- To manage one video's dubs, open it from Content, click Languages, hover over a language and use the menu in the Audio column to publish, unpublish or delete.
- An unpublished dub can be republished later. A deleted dub can't.
- Previewing, publishing and deleting dubs only works in YouTube Studio on a computer.

How do you upload your own dubbed audio?
Multi-language audio lets you add your own recorded tracks to one video or Short, instead of running separate channels per language. It needs access to advanced features.
- Sign in to YouTube Studio on a computer.
- From the left menu, select Languages.
- Click the video.
- Click Add language and choose the language.
- Next to Dub, click Add, then Select file.
- Choose an audio-only file roughly the same length as the video, then click Publish.
- Localised thumbnails: upload your main thumbnail first, then in Languages click a language, click Add next to Thumbnail and click Update. Viewers see the one matching their language setting.
- YouTube suggests focusing on one or two languages and dubbing as much as you can in them.

Why is my YouTube dub missing or wrong?
Match the problem to the fix:
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No automatic dub | Video over 120 minutes, little or no speech, unsupported or undetected language, very fast speech, or copyrighted content | Check which reason applies; only a wrong language setting can be fixed after upload |
| Dub is mistranslated | The original video language is set wrong | Correct the video language; dubs are regenerated |
| Can't upload your own dub | An automatic dub already exists for that language | Delete the automatic dub first |
| No Dub option | Multi-language audio needs advanced features | Unlock advanced features |
| Uploaded track removed | Copyrighted content in it differs from the original audio | Keep copyrighted content, such as music, the same as in the original audio |

Zolyp, which publishes this guide, publishes to YouTube as one of 9 platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads). It creates video uploads and Shorts with titles and descriptions written for search, can set a custom thumbnail on a standard video, and schedules them with the posts on your other networks. You approve the week before anything goes live.
