How to see who viewed your Instagram story

1. Tap your profile picture to open your story.
2. Swipe up on the screen.
3. See the view count and the usernames of people who viewed each photo or video.
4. If you shared the story to Facebook, scroll down to see who saw it there.

Instagram says you can see who viewed a story for up to 48 hours after you posted it.

1. Go to your profile.
2. Tap Menu in the top right.
3. Below How you use Instagram, tap Archive.
4. Scroll to the story you want.
5. Tap the story and swipe up.

• The view count includes replays, so one person watching twice counts twice
• Instagram Plus subscribers who previewed your story aren't included in the list or the count
• Viewers on Facebook appear further down, if you shared the story there

You need a public account, personal or professional, to see insights. They last up to two years, though the expired story itself can't be viewed. Numbers can take time to fill in.

1. Open your story by tapping your profile picture.
2. Tap Activity, then Insights.
3. For past stories: go to your profile, tap More, then Insights below For professionals (or Your dashboard on a personal account).
4. Tap Content you shared, then the story.

• Views: how many times the story was played or displayed
• Viewers: unique accounts that saw it at least once
• Interactions: replies, shares, sticker taps, link taps and more
• Accounts engaged: unique accounts that interacted
• Profile activity: profile visits, follows and website clicks from the story

You can also do it from the viewer list: tap Options next to a name, then Hide your story, then Hide. This isn't blocking; they can still see your profile and posts. And when you watch someone else's story, they can tell you've seen it.

1. Go to your profile and tap Menu.
2. Below Who can see your content, tap Story, live and location.
3. Tap Hide your story and live videos from specific people.
4. Select the people, then tap Done.

• It's been more than 48 hours. Use story insights for counts instead
• No insights. You need a public account
• Insights look low. Instagram says reported numbers may be delayed
• Some names are missing. Instagram Plus previews aren't listed
