How to open a TikTok Shop: requirements and sign-up steps

Businesses, brands and individual sellers can apply, as long as they're in a supported market and pass verification. TikTok Shop runs separately in each country, so you sign up once for each region you want to sell in.

• A password of 6 to 20 characters mixing numbers, letters and special characters.
• You must live in the country you choose for your shop.
• Politicians can't become TikTok Shop sellers.

TikTok Shop's US seller page gives these steps:

1. Click Start selling to open the registration page.
2. Create your account with an email, phone number, TikTok account or another login method.
3. Verify your identity or business: enter basic details and upload any required documents.
4. Set up your shop: add the shop name, warehouse or pickup address, and link a bank account for payouts.
5. List products one by one, or connect an existing catalogue through an integration.

• The UK page adds that approval may take 2 to 3 days.
• Neither page lists which documents are required, so check what Seller Center asks for at the verification step.

• Upload products in Seller Center. They must meet TikTok Shop's product rules and local regulations, or they're rejected.
• Work with creators through the TikTok Shop Affiliate programme, which pays them commission.
• Sell in LIVE streams, shoppable videos and your product showcase.
• Use discounts, vouchers, free shipping offers and TikTok Shop campaigns.
• Track reviews and sales in Seller Center's analytics.
