Why use a Facebook event?
Meta says events are free to use and suggests businesses use them for launches, sales, performances, trade shows and fundraisers. An event gives people one place to see the details, RSVP, ask questions and get updates. Meta lists these features for businesses:
- Privacy and access controls, and RSVPs you can check.
- A discussion section for updates and answering questions.
- Recurring events, so several dates are managed together.
- Ticket sales on Facebook, plus integrations with AXS, Eventbrite, Ticketmaster and SeatGeek.
- Insights such as how many people bought tickets or clicked the ticketing link.
- Event ads to reach more people.

How do you create an event as your Page?
Create it as the Page, not your profile, so the business is the host. Meta notes that all events hosted by Pages are public. Its steps:
- Log in to Facebook, then click your profile photo in the top right.
- Click See all profiles, then select your Page.
- From your Feed, click Events in the left menu. You may need to click See more first.
- Click + Create new event on the left.
- Choose an event name, date and time, and whether it's In person or Virtual.
- Enter the details below What are the details?.
- Click Create Event.

How do you set up a recurring event?
For a weekly class, a market day or anything spread over several days, use a recurring event. Meta says events can recur up to 52 times, and that location and time zone can't be edited once the event has started. The steps start the same way:
- Switch into your Page, click Events, then + Create new event.
- Enter the event name, time, location and description.
- Scroll down and click Repeat event.
- Click Frequency and choose Daily or Weekly.
- Choose the End Date and End Time when the event should stop repeating.
- Click Create event.

How do you create a live video event?
If the event is a broadcast, such as a launch or a Q&A, create a live event so people can find it in advance and the video appears in the event when you go live. Meta says this only works on a computer, and live videos and events hosted by a Page can only be public.
- From your Page, click Live video, or click What's on your mind?, then Options, then Live video.
- Below Create live video event, click Create event.
- Add a name and description, and choose the start date and time (and an end date and time if you like).
- Choose who can see and join from the Privacy menu. Guests can invite friends is on by default.
- Click Next, then Create event.
- When it's time, open Scheduled broadcasts, find the event, click Set up live video, then Go live now. With streaming software, the stream starts automatically at the scheduled time once connected.

What if the event won't go to plan?
A few problems come up often, and Meta's pages explain most of them:
- The event appears under your name, not the business: you created it from your profile. Switch into the Page and create it again.
- You want a private, invite-only event: Page events are always public, and Meta's help centre covers private events separately, as events not hosted by a Page.
- The location or time zone is wrong on a recurring event that has started: Meta says these can't be edited once it has begun, so set them carefully before the first date.
- No one was notified about your scheduled broadcast: scheduling a live video alone doesn't notify your audience; Meta suggests a live video event when you want to tell people in advance.

Where Zolyp fits around an event
Zolyp is our product, so weigh this section with that in mind. An event page holds the details, but people still need reminding in their feed. Zolyp doesn't create Facebook events; it can plan and publish the build-up posts to your Page, such as the announcement, a countdown and a thank-you afterwards.
Zolyp plans the week across your content themes, writes the captions and designs the visuals against your Brand Brain (your tone, colours and rules, saved once), then schedules and publishes to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads. You review and approve the week, and Autopilot lets you hand off publishing theme by theme once you trust the output. Plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial and no card required.
