Video

Make short AI videos for your social media posts.

Describe what you want and Zolyp makes the video for the post: a short clip from your words or a photo, a branded Motion video built from your website, photos and logo, or a Cinematic video of you or your product. You pick the shape and length, see the credits first, and watch it before it goes out.

Why it matters

The video post is the one that slips.

Filming, editing and exporting a short video for every platform takes time most small teams don't have, so the week goes out without one. Zolyp makes the clip or the branded video from a few lines.

How it works

From idea to video post in three steps.

Step 1

Describe the video.

In Create post, choose Video, pick a video source and say what should happen in your own words. Add a photo, your logo or a music track where the source takes them.

Step 2

Check the shape, length and cost.

Choose portrait or landscape (Motion video also does square), the length and, for a clip, the quality. The credits show before anything is made.

Step 3

Watch it on the post.

The video lands on its post when it's ready, and you get a notification. Ask for a new version if it isn't right, then approve or schedule the post.

Three kinds of video

A quick clip, a video built from your brand, or footage of you.

Clips are generated footage from your description or a single photo: a scene, a product moment, a seasonal mood. Motion videos are animated graphics that Zolyp's video studio designs from your website, photos, logo and words: an offer, a launch, an explainer. Cinematic videos are generated footage of you, your product or a presenter, planned shot by shot and edited to music.

  2. 2.

Motion videos: portrait, square or landscape, 1080p, 4 to 30 seconds

  3. 3.

Cinematic videos: portrait, square or landscape, 8, 12 or 15 seconds, or a reference video's own length up to 30

What Zolyp's AI video generator makes

Zolyp makes three kinds of video for your posts, and all of them are AI-made. Choose the one that fits the post, or upload a video you already have.

  • AI clip: a short clip of generated footage, made from your description, or from one photo used as the opening frame or as the product to feature. Good for a scene, a product with movement or a seasonal mood.
  • Motion video: a branded animated video that Zolyp's video studio plans, designs and renders from your website, photos, logo and instructions, with music or a voice-over if you want them. Its scenes are animated graphics built from your own material, not generated footage. Good for offers, launches, explainers and announcements.
  • Cinematic: generated footage of you (from your photos), your product, or an AI presenter. Lina, Zolyp's video agent, plans the shots, checks each one and edits them to music. You can describe the video, start from an example, or add a reference video for her to follow.
  • Upload: your own video, up to 95 MB. Zolyp looks at frames from it to write a caption that matches.

How to make an AI clip

AI clips are made in the Create post window:

  1. Go to Posts, click Create post, and choose Video as the content type and AI clip as the video source.
  2. Under Instructions, write what happens in the clip in your own words, or click Generate idea for a suggestion based on your Brand Brain.
  3. To start from a photo, attach one with + and choose Start frame (the clip opens on your photo) or Product (the clip is built around it on High and Best; on Standard the photo becomes the start frame).
  4. Open Advanced settings and choose Orientation, Length and Quality. The cost in credits shows before you create.
  5. Click Create to make the clip and send the post to review, or Create and schedule to schedule the post as soon as the clip is ready. Save draft keeps your settings without making the clip.

The post is saved straight away and the clip is made in the background, so you can close the tab; a notification tells you when it's ready. Zolyp turns your words into a detailed brief for the clip, using your Brand Brain. Tick Send my words exactly to send your own wording as it is.

How to make a Motion video

Motion videos start in the same window:

  1. In Create post, choose Video, then Motion video as the video source.
  2. Write what the video should say and show. Use + to add your photos, your logo, a reference video or images for the style, a music track or a voice recording.
  3. In Advanced settings, choose Orientation, Length, Frame rate, Music, Voice-over and Language.
  4. Pick the platforms, then write captions or leave them empty. Empty captions are written for you when the video is ready.
  5. Click Make video. The button shows the credits, and a draft post appears straight away.

The video's page shows progress and any question the studio needs you to answer. You can leave; you'll be told when it's ready. Once it's delivered, the video goes on the post and the post moves to review. From the video's page you can ask for a change, pick the cover frame, download it or save it to your Library.

How to make a Cinematic video

Cinematic videos start in the same window too:

  1. In Create post, choose Video, then Cinematic as the video source.
  2. Add up to 5 photos of yourself or of your product. A check on your device sorts them by whether they show a face, and you can correct it; with no photos, the video uses an AI presenter. For photos of you, tick the box to confirm they're of you, you're 18 or older and not a public figure, and that you agree to how they're used (see Limits to know first).
  3. Say what the video should be, start from an example, or add a reference video. Lina follows a reference's timing, energy and look; its people and clips aren't reused.
  4. Choose the orientation, length and music. Make video shows the most it can cost, with what it usually costs beside it.
  5. Pick the platforms, write captions or leave them empty, and click Make video.

The video's page shows progress. For a video of you, Lina shows the first shot and asks "Does this look like you?" before making the rest; if you say no twice, the video stops and nothing is charged. You'll get a notification when it's ready, and the video goes on its post for review. To change a finished Cinematic video, make a new one.

Quality, length and credits

AI clips come in three qualities. The quality sets the lengths you can choose, whether the clip has sound, and what it costs:

  • Standard: 4 or 8 seconds, no sound. 5 credits for 4 seconds, 10 for 8.
  • High: 4, 8 or 15 seconds, no sound. 22 credits for 4 seconds, 43 for 8, 79 for 15.
  • Best: 4, 8 or 15 seconds, with sound. 41 credits for 4 seconds, 81 for 8, 151 for 15.
  • Motion video: 150 credits for 4, 8 or 15 seconds, 200 for 30 seconds, and 110 for each change you ask for.
  • Cinematic: a 8, 12 or 15-second video usually uses 375 to 683 credits, depending on the length and who's in it (a product costs least), and up to 989 for 30 seconds. That's Lina's fee plus the footage made, and footage that fails costs nothing. Before it starts, up to 819 credits (1125 for 30 seconds) are set aside in case a shot has to be made again, and only what's made is charged. A Cinematic video you stop still pays for the footage already made.

Every AI clip is 720p: 720 × 1280 in portrait or 1280 × 720 in landscape. Motion videos are 1080 × 1920 (portrait), 1080 × 1080 (square) or 1920 × 1080 (landscape), at 30 or 60 frames a second for the same credits. Credits come from your plan's one monthly balance and are used only when a clip or Motion video is delivered, so a video that fails costs nothing. Once a clip is made its credits are used, even if you then delete the post or ask for a newer clip, and stopping a Motion video after work has started can still use some of its credits.

Limits to know first

What the video tools don't do, so you can plan around it:

  • AI clips top out at 720p on every quality. There's no 1080p or 4K setting.
  • AI clips are portrait or landscape only. For a square video, use Motion video.
  • The longest AI clip is 15 seconds (8 on Standard). Motion videos go up to 30 seconds.
  • Only Best clips have sound. For music or a voice-over, use Motion video.
  • An AI clip starts from one photo at most.
  • Video isn't part of the free trial, and Lite has no monthly credits. Video uses the credits that come with Starter and above.
  • There's a limit on how many Motion videos one workspace can make at a time, and in a day.
  • A Cinematic video uses more credits than Starter's 300 a month, so it needs Growth (1000 credits a month) or above. A 30-second one sets aside up to 1125, so it needs Pro or above, or Growth with 2× credits. There's also a daily limit per workspace.
  • Cinematic videos are for one adult or one product: don't use photos of children, groups or famous people. There's one template today (City walk, 12 seconds, portrait, of you); otherwise you describe the video or add a reference.
  • Photos of you for a Cinematic video are sent to our video partner, whose terms let it use them to train its AI models. The privacy policy explains this. If you don't want that, use product photos or an AI presenter instead.
  • A finished Cinematic video can't be edited. To change it, make a new one.
  • Posts aren't labelled as AI-made unless you turn on Label as AI-made for the post.

When to use something else

Zolyp's video is built for short posts made quickly. Use other tools when:

  • You need 1080p or 4K generated footage. AI clips top out at 720p.
  • You need one generated clip longer than 15 seconds.
  • A real person has to speak on camera, or you need to show your actual team, premises or customers. Film it and upload it. Cinematic footage of you is generated from your photos, not filmed.
  • You want to edit your own footage: trim it, cut it together, add subtitles. Use a video editor, then upload the finished file (up to 95 MB).

When you upload a video in Create post, it's checked against each platform's length, size and format rules before it's scheduled.

FAQ

Questions about Video

Need a hand? Contact us.

Can I make videos on the free trial?

No. Video isn't part of the free trial, and Lite includes no monthly credits. AI clips and Motion videos use the monthly credits that come with Starter and above: Starter's 300 credits make up to 60 Standard clips of 4 seconds, or 2 Motion videos.

How many credits does a video use?

A 4-second AI clip uses 5 credits at Standard, 22 at High and 41 at Best, and longer clips use more, up to 151 for 15 seconds at Best. A Motion video uses 150 credits for up to 15 seconds or 200 for 30, plus 110 for each change. A video that fails costs nothing, but stopping a Motion video after work has started can still use some of its credits.

Are the videos made by AI?

Yes. AI clips are generated by an AI video model from your description or photo, Motion videos are planned and built by an AI agent from your website, photos and logo, and Cinematic videos are AI-generated footage that an AI agent plans and edits. Posts aren't labelled as AI-made unless you turn on Label as AI-made for the post.

What sizes and lengths can I make?

AI clips are 720p, in portrait or landscape: 4 or 8 seconds at Standard, and 4, 8 or 15 seconds at High and Best. Motion videos are 1080p, in portrait, square or landscape, and 4, 8, 15 or 30 seconds long, or a reference video's own length (4 to 30 seconds).

Does a video post without me seeing it?

Not unless you schedule it. Create sends a finished video post to review, and nothing posts until you approve it. Create and schedule makes the clip and schedules the post as soon as it's ready, so watch it before its time. A Motion video lands on its post in review.

What happens to my photos in a Cinematic video?

Photos of you are kept in private storage and, on our side, used only for your videos. They're deleted straight away when you remove them, and automatically 30 days after they were last used. To make the footage they're sent to our video partner, whose terms let it use them to train its AI models, and you agree to this with a tick first. The privacy policy names the partner. If you'd rather not, use product photos or an AI presenter.

Can I use my own video instead?

Yes. Choose Upload as the video source and attach a file up to 95 MB. Zolyp looks at frames from it to write a caption that matches.
