TikTok Symphony Creative Studio: how to make AI videos

TikTok lists these tools, for organic posts and ads:

• Video generation: text to video, image to video, and reference to video from several images, clips or audio.
• Image generation from text prompts.
• Voiceover avatar: a narrator reads your script.
• Product avatar: an avatar holds or shows your product from a single product image.
• Translate and dub: voice your video in other languages.
• A video editor with music, captions, text, effects and stickers.
• Symphony Agent: a guided workflow from prompt to finished ad.

TikTok's steps on desktop:

1. Open Symphony Creative Studio, hover over the left panel and click Create.
2. Choose Text to video, Image to video or Reference to video.
3. Write a prompt. For Text to video, click Enhance to make it more detailed. For Image to video, upload an image and describe the movement you want.
4. Pick a model and a video length.
5. Click the up arrow to generate. TikTok says it typically takes a few minutes.
6. Open the Library icon to preview, edit, download or click Sync to Ads Manager.

Hover over the left panel to find the avatar tools.

1. Voiceover avatar: pick a real-human or AI-generated avatar, filtering by appearance, industry, gender, background or region, then click Continue.
2. Type your script or upload audio, then click Generate, or choose Advanced edit.
3. Product avatar: upload a product image, select an avatar, click Add, then Generate.
4. Hover over a result to animate it, download it or sync it to Ads Manager, and optionally add a voiceover and captions.
5. Click Export, then Download or Ads Manager.

• Product avatars don't support clothing accessories such as shoes, hats, sunglasses or bracelets.

Translate and dub isn't available to users in Texas or Illinois because of local restrictions. Elsewhere:

1. Hover over the Tools icon on the left panel and upload a video or pick one from your library.
2. Under Translate to, choose a language. Click +Add language for more.
3. Under Voice, choose Clone to keep the original voice, or a stock voice.
4. Optionally turn on Replace existing subtitles, and Lip-sync if someone speaks on screen.
5. Click Generate, review the scripts, then export.

• You can fix small errors in the translated script, but TikTok doesn't allow edits that change the meaning or tone of what someone said.

Symphony Agent is a chat-based workflow inside Symphony Creative Studio. You start from a top ad trend, a template, a reference video or a prompt, add product images, selling points, audience and tone, and the agent produces a product brief, an insight report, a storyboard and a finished video. TikTok says it can make a 15-second video in about 5 minutes and up to 3 variations at a time for testing. Access depends on the ad spend of the Ads Manager account linked to Symphony.

TikTok's prompt tips and limits:

• Keep prompts short and literal, such as a person runs on a treadmill in a gym.
• Describe one scene. Generate scenes separately and join them in the editor.
• Don't refer back to earlier generations or write prompts as a conversation.
• Prompts naming celebrities or public figures are rejected.
• Avoid split-screen or picture-in-picture requests.
• Try regenerating with the same prompt before rewriting it.
• Lip-sync struggles with several speakers, covered mouths, poor lighting or background noise.
• Can't see Agent? Access is tied to your linked ad account's spend.
