How to make a playlist on TikTok

Playlists let you group your public posts so viewers can watch related videos in order. They appear in the posts tab of your profile.

TikTok says playlists aren't available to everyone. If you don't see an option to create one in the posts tab on your profile, you don't have them yet.

Your first playlist starts in TikTok Studio:

1. In the TikTok app, tap Profile at the bottom.
2. Tap the Menu button (three lines) at the top, then TikTok Studio.
3. Under More tools, tap Playlist.
4. Tap Create playlist.
5. Follow the steps to name it and choose posts.

• After that, create more from the Manage playlists button in the posts tab on your profile, or through TikTok Studio.

For a video you've already posted:

1. Go to the video.
2. Tap the More options (...) button.
3. Tap Add to playlist and choose the playlist, or tap Remove from playlist.

• While posting: on the Post screen, tap More options (...), then Add to playlist, and choose a playlist or tap New playlist.
• A post can be in only one playlist at a time. To move it, remove it from the first playlist.

To edit:

1. Tap Profile, then the Manage playlists button in the posts tab (or open it from TikTok Studio).
2. Select the playlist.
3. Tap Remove posts or Add posts, or tap Edit next to the name to rename it.
4. Press and hold a post and drag it to change the order.
5. Tap Remove or Add to save, or exit the playlist to save the new order.

• The post most recently added plays first unless you change the order.
• To delete: tap the playlist in your posts tab, tap More options (...) at the top, then Delete playlist, and confirm. The posts themselves aren't deleted.

Playlists turn a scrolling grid into something a new visitor can browse. A few ways to group posts:

• By product or service, so someone interested in one line sees all of it.
• Answers to common customer questions, in the order people usually ask them.
• A series, such as weekly tips or a behind-the-scenes run, ordered from the first episode.
• Reviews and customer stories, kept together as proof for new visitors.

If the feature is missing, update the app and check the posts tab again later. TikTok doesn't publish a date for wider availability.

• No option in your posts tab: playlists haven't reached your account yet.
• Others can't see the playlist: it needs at least one public post.
• Your account is private: you can still manage playlists, but no one else can see them.
• Add to playlist is missing on the Post screen: create your first playlist from TikTok Studio first.
• A video won't add: it's already in another playlist. Remove it from that one first.
