How do you hide like counts on your own post?
This works one post at a time. In the app:
- Tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right.
- Tap the Options menu next to the post.
- Tap Hide like and share counts.
- It hides how many people liked, viewed, reposted or quoted the post from others
- On threads.com, click Profile on the left and follow the same steps

How do you hide counts on posts you see?
This hides likes, views, reposts and quotes on other profiles' posts, for you only:
- Tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right.
- Tap Settings in the top right.
- Tap Content preferences, then Hide like and share counts.
- Turn the setting on, or off to show counts again.
- On threads.com, click More on the left, then Settings, Content preferences and Hide like and share counts

How do you make your likes private?
Private likes hides the fact that you liked a post, rather than the count:
- Tap Profile or your profile picture in the bottom right.
- Tap Settings in the top right.
- Tap Privacy, then Private likes.
- Turn on Private likes.
- With it on, only you and the post's author can see that you liked it
- If you turn it off, your past and future likes become visible to anyone who can see the post
- On threads.com, click More, then Settings, Privacy and Private likes

Should a business hide its likes?
Our suggestions, not Meta's:
- Leaving counts on lets visible interest encourage others to join in
- Hiding counts on a single post can make sense for a sensitive update, such as a price change or an apology
- Hiding counts from others doesn't change what you should track. Keep checking Insights for your own numbers
- Private likes is worth turning on if you'd rather customers didn't see which posts the business account likes
Why are likes still showing, or missing?
- Counts still show on your other posts. Hiding counts is set per post
- You can't see counts on anyone's posts. Hide like and share counts is turned on in Content preferences
- The author can still see your like. Private likes hides it from everyone else, not the post's author
- A like is missing from your list. To see posts you've liked, click Menu, then Liked. Likes on ghost posts don't appear there
