What's the difference between a public and a private feed?
A private feed is visible only to you. A public feed can be seen and shared by anyone on or off Threads, pinned by anyone to their home, shown in posts, in search and on your profile under Feeds, and suggested to others. It shows your name as its creator.
Anyone viewing a public feed's information can tap Share or Quote it in a post. A profile included in someone's public feed can take itself out with Options, then Remove me.

How do custom feeds fit with For you, Following and Fediverse?
On threads.com you switch feeds by clicking a feed name at the top of home, and click Threads in the top left to refresh.
| Feed | What it shows |
|---|---|
| For you | Posts from profiles you follow, mixed with recommended accounts |
| Following | Only posts from profiles you follow |
| Fediverse | Posts from people you follow on other fediverse servers, if you've turned on sharing. It can't be customised or made public |

How can a business use custom feeds?
Our suggestions, not Meta's:
- Keep a private feed of your trade's topics and key accounts as a simple way to listen in on your industry
- Group competitors, suppliers and local partners in one place, so you can check them in a minute
- Use the feed to find conversations worth replying to, since replies are how new people see you
- Make a public feed for customers, such as the local businesses you work with, and share its link
Why can't you find or use a custom feed?
- You can't see Other Feeds. Meta's creation steps are written for threads.com, so try on a computer
- The Fediverse feed won't change. Meta says it can't be customised or made public
- Your public feed shows your name. Public feeds always name their creator, so keep it private if you'd rather not
- You're in a feed you don't want to be in. Tap Options in the top right of the feed and tap Remove me
- A feed breaks the rules. Tap Options in the top right and tap Report
