Is TikTok worth it for a B2B business?
Your buyers are people, and many of them scroll TikTok outside work hours. The question is whether you can reach the right ones. TikTok's newsroom says neither follower count nor past high-performing videos are direct factors in its recommendations, which helps a niche B2B account: a good video about payroll software can reach people who care about payroll.
TikTok's own business blog makes the B2B case through expertise rather than entertainment, and cites HubSpot as the first B2B brand to run a TopView ad, reporting a 10.5% lift in brand favourability and 7.1% in awareness in 2023. That was a paid campaign, reported by TikTok, so treat it as proof that B2B can get attention there, not as a forecast for your account.
- Worth testing: you sell to small businesses, trades, creators or other buyers who use TikTok personally; your work can be shown on camera; or you're hiring.
- Lower priority: you sell to a handful of large enterprise accounts, or someone on your team can't commit to filming regularly.

Who are you talking to on TikTok?
B2B buyers rarely buy alone. On TikTok you're usually reaching one person in the buying group, often not the one who signs. Write for the person who feels the problem every day: the office manager, the site supervisor, the bookkeeper, the junior marketer.
Describe them in one line, including the words they'd search for. TikTok's help centre says that in search, how well a video matches the term entered is generally weighted most, so their vocabulary matters more than yours.
It also helps to list the objections you hear in sales calls: too expensive, too complicated, we already have someone, now isn't the time. Each objection is a video. Answering it openly, to camera, does part of the sales conversation before anyone books a call.

What B2B content works on TikTok?
Think of it as teaching in public. The examples below are invented, for a hypothetical IT support firm, to show each series.
B2B topics often need room to explain. TikTok's help centre suggests trying videos longer than one minute, and its Creator Academy notes that whatever the length, hooking viewers in the first 5 seconds matters. Open on the problem, then take the time the explanation needs.
| Series | What it does | Example (hypothetical) |
|---|---|---|
| Explain a term | Makes a confusing word simple | "What 'zero trust' actually means for a 10-person office" |
| Myth or mistake | Shows expertise by correcting something common | "Your Wi-Fi password isn't your biggest security risk" |
| Show the work | Proves you can do it | Setting up a new starter's laptop, start to finish |
| Customer problem solved | Proof without a sales pitch | "A client lost a day of email. Here's what fixed it." (with permission) |
| Opinion | Gives people a reason to follow you | "Three tools small offices pay for and don't need" |
| Day in the life | Helps hiring and humanises the brand | A support engineer's morning, from first ticket to lunch |

Who should be on camera?
People follow people. A B2B account that only posts logo animations and product screenshots gives viewers nothing to connect with. The best presenters are usually those who do the work: engineers, account managers, technicians and founders.
They don't need to be natural performers. Someone explaining a problem they solve every day, in their own words, is usually more convincing than a confident presenter reading a script. Start with short answers to one question each, filmed where they work.
- Agree what staff can and can't say about clients and prices before anyone films. Our social media policy template covers this.
- Never show client data, screens or names without written permission.
- Rotate presenters so the account doesn't depend on one person's diary.
- Let people speak in their own words. A script read off a phone shows.
How do B2B leads come from TikTok?
Organic videos create interest; you need clear routes for it. TikTok offers several:
TikTok's small business guide includes a B2B example: Goodcall, a software company, combined creator partnerships with Spark Ads and, according to TikTok, cut its customer acquisition cost from $185 to $7 per sign-up. That's one campaign reported by TikTok, not a typical result, but it shows the pattern of organic videos first and paid support behind the ones that work.
- Profile link: Verified Business Accounts can add a website link to their profile. Point it at a page made for TikTok visitors, not your home page.
- Leads manager: TikTok says the Business Suite for Verified Business Accounts includes an analytics dashboard and a leads manager.
- Lead generation ads: TikTok's guide to small business leads lists finding new B2B leads among its uses. It suggests Instant Forms with fewer than 10 questions and having your privacy policy URL ready before you build one.
- Spark Ads: boost your own best organic video, or a creator's, as an ad.

How do you measure B2B TikTok?
Views alone mislead in B2B, because a niche video for the right 2,000 people can be worth more than a broad one seen by 200,000. Measure what moves the pipeline:
Expect a lag. B2B buyers may watch for weeks before they get in touch, and the eventual enquiry might come through your website or a referral rather than TikTok directly. That is why asking every new lead how they first heard of you matters more here than in consumer businesses.
Set expectations inside the business too. A sales director used to tracking ad clicks may judge TikTok on the first month's leads. Agree up front that the 90-day test is about learning which series attract the right viewers, and that leads are the result to look for at the end, not every week.
- Profile visits and link clicks, with UTM tags on the link so your website analytics show TikTok traffic.
- Demo requests, calls and form fills where the person says they found you on TikTok. Add "How did you hear about us?" to every form.
- Mentions on sales calls: ask your team to note when a prospect says they've seen your videos.
- Applications, if hiring is part of the goal.
- Which series bring those outcomes, not which single video went furthest.
A 90-day B2B TikTok test (hypothetical)
An invented plan for a 12-person IT support firm, to show the shape of a fair test:
- Weeks 1 and 2: switch to a Verified Business Account, write a bio that says who you help, and add a tagged link to a TikTok landing page.
- Weeks 1 and 2: list 30 questions clients ask. Pick three series from the table above.
- Weeks 3 to 10: film twice a month, two or three people each session, and post regularly from the batch.
- Every week: reply to comments; the best questions become next month's videos.
- Week 11: look at which series brought profile visits, link clicks and enquiries.
- Week 12: decide to continue, change the series, or stop, and write down why.
Where Zolyp fits (disclosed: it's our product)
B2B accounts often stall because posting depends on one busy person. A planned calendar and written captions keep the account going between filming days. Zolyp, which we make, plans the week, writes and designs posts against your Brand Brain and publishes them to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and Threads once you approve them. Lite is $9 a month per brand for scheduling posts you make yourself; plans that create the posts start at $29 a month, with a 3-day free trial.
Common questions
Does TikTok work for B2B companies?
It can, especially when you sell to small businesses or professionals who use TikTok personally. TikTok recommends videos by interest, so expertise-led videos can reach the right people without a large following.
What should a B2B company post on TikTok?
Videos that explain terms, correct common mistakes, show how the work is done, walk through solved customer problems and give honest opinions. Real staff on camera beat polished brand videos.
Can you get B2B leads from TikTok?
Yes. Use a tagged link on a Verified Business Account profile, ask enquirers how they found you, and consider lead generation ads with short Instant Forms once organic videos show what works.
Should employees post for a B2B brand on TikTok?
Often they're the best presenters. Agree clear rules on what can be shown or said about clients and prices first, and never show client data without permission.
How long should a B2B company test TikTok?
Around 90 days of regular posting is a fair test. Judge it on enquiries, link clicks and sales conversations, not only views.
Should a B2B company use a Verified Business Account on TikTok?
TikTok says anyone whose main goal is to promote a product or service should use one. It gives you a profile link without a follower minimum, the Business Suite and the Commercial Music Library.
